      Cannabis Security, Beyond Compliance

      A security plan utilizing the minimum technology and operational procedures to meet compliance requirements with regulations should not be mistaken as a security plan designed to protect the people and property within a cannabis facility. No single state’s security requirements meet the physical protection standards utilized by every type of business. Most state requirements include antiquated and misunderstood elements for security compliance or fail to address many areas entirely.

      Tim Sutton has 35+ years of security experience. His expertise includes operational security management and program development, loss prevention, physical security and risk assessments, and technical security systems design and implementation. He was director of security at Grassroots and Revolution Enterprises, two IL-based MSOs with operations in several states. Tim also chairs the committee for the currently under development ASIS/ANSI Cannabis Security Standard expected to publish Q4 2023.
