Minnesota is officially the 23rd state to legalize adult-use cannabis
Minnesota is officially the 23rd state to legalize adult-use cannabis. Governor Tim Walz signed the legislation today, telling a packed press conference that “adults should make their own decisions.” The law, which takes effect August 1st, allows adults over 21 to buy and possess up to two ounces of cannabis, eight grams of concentrate, and/or 800 milligrams of edibles.
Dispensaries are expected to open in early 2025, but Minnesotans will be able to begin growing cannabis in their homes on August 1st. The Land of 10,000 Lakes is expected to be a major Midwest marijuana market, especially after sales of hemp-derived THC edibles exploded after they were legalized in 2022.
Lucky Leaf Expo Minneapolis will take place April 26 and 27 at the Minneapolis Convention Center and will feature high-value programming sure to set the Land of 10,000 Lakes off on the right foot. Speaker and exhibitor applications are now open – interested parties can email info@luckyleafexpo.com to learn more.
