Maryland marijuana market brings in $20 million in first week of recreational sales
The Old Line State kicked off its adult-use cannabis market with a bang. Retailers brought in close to $21 million in revenue during the first week of legal recreational marijuana. Sales were fairly split between medical patients and rec consumers, with adult-use cannabis accounting for roughly $10.4 million.
The robust sales were an early sign of what lies ahead for Maryland’s marijuana industry. Officials anticipate the state’s cannabis market could reach a value of over $1 billion within two years. Beginning in January, Maryland will begin issuing licenses to social equity applications, opening the market further.
Lucky Leaf Expo Baltimore is excited to celebrate the successful start of adult-use sales in Maryland. Taking place this week on July 21-22 at the Baltimore Convention Center, the trade show and conference will feature dozens of educational panels, over 100 exhibitors, and plenty of fun.
