      Maryland Cannabis Legalization

Congratulations to the Old Line State of Maryland, where adult-use cannabis legalization is set to take effect on Saturday. Voters in the state approved the initiative last November, and adults over 21 will now be able to possess up to 1.5 ounces of cannabis.

Starting Saturday, close to 100 medical dispensaries will begin selling adult-use cannabis. Nearly 40 cultivation and manufacturing licenses have already been awarded as well. Adults may also grow two plants at home and gift cannabis without remuneration.

Maryland’s legal market is projected to bring in $2 billion by 2027. The state is expecting a busy July 4th shopping weekend that will likely continue throughout the summer travel season.

“Maryland is one of those markets that’s set to go in the win column,” Jeremy Unruh, senior vice president of public and regulatory affairs at PharmaCann, told MJBizDaily. “I think operators will ultimately see a tremendous amount of success.”

Those hoping to be a part of Maryland’s new adult-use cannabis market should plan to attend Lucky Leaf Expo Baltimore on July 21 and 22. Taking place at the Baltimore Convention Center, the conference and trade show will bring together notable speakers, more than 100 exhibitors, and entrepreneurs from across the vertical for two days of education, networking, and fun.

A limited number of tickets are still available for Lucky Leaf Expo Baltimore. Secure your spot now.
